Microsoft has been concentrating on design and UI all along until now. The area they fail to master is better security and bug-free OS.

The day they take over those two departments, they will rule the OS industry (unless its not too late already)

I disagree with you. I think Microsoft should concentrate on both design and function. And Windows already has plenty of functions, options, tools, and every bell and whistle you can think about in an OS but the thing that it lacks is a seamless fluid interaction between the user and the software. Microsoft needs to hire a new young GUI team to give Windows a new WOW factor. That's what people now-a-days want. Something to be impressed with.

I don't think we should be concerned about Vista anymore as we have Ubuntu now

from what ive seen/heard, it will most likely be using the aero windows theme by default, but will most likely have other available themes to choose from.

I'd rather MS worked on Vista to make it a stable OS than go after Vienna, though Vista's not even near-perfect. Maybe they just want us to keep upgrading and lose money?

I have a powerful PC with XP, and my next computer (laptop) will be a Mac OS X. Enough of this Windows non-sense (not that I'll buy every upgrade of Mac OS X)

Sounds good...I would say that they should have both the teams of design and functionality...In my opinion, people are nowadays going more after design cos people are chasing after Mac because of its design than functionality as it hardly goes in hand with any other application or system...
